SIZE DOESN’T MATTER

Don’t be afraid to play with proportions when it comes to thrifting. Opshops are the one place where size doesn’t matter and you can actually shop every rack from children’s wear to plus size…you’d be surprised at what actually fits you from each end of the spectrum, as sizing has changed a lot of the years.

There are also a few tricks to streamlining garments too, such as cinching in oversized tops with high-waisted slacks, shorts or skirts, or popping statement belts around the waistline of billowy dresses to bring them in.

This size 18 vintage ruffled blouse is teamed with high-waisted trousers and a long-line vest to make the look more sleek.

Each day of National Op Shop Week, we’ll be sharing some secondhand street style tips and tricks to help make the road your runway, so be sure to pop back tomorrow!
