You know it’s going to be a good day when an opshop has sale signs all over its windows! We hit the jackpot at the Red Cross Thrift store in Caloundra a few weeks back with their special offer of 50% off on the second item.
I took advantage of it and picked up a few gems including a few vintage blouses for work, a plaid blazer with a feature hanky in the breast pocket and Florsheim leather slides for only $8.
The spacious store has a wide range of stock including plenty of blazers, labels, super cute crockery and more bow headbands than Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf could handle.
Prices generally range from $3 – $8, but the store holds regular specials…the week after I visited they were selling pants for $1!
Meet the A-team
Mavis and Bev both volunteer twice a week.
“We love meeting people and our team of volunteers are all great friends. I’ve been here since the week it opened, 10 years ago,” Bev said.
Mavis was celebrating her 76th birthday the day I popped in.
“It keeps me young working in here,” Mavis said.
