This op shop is one of Bardon’s best-kept secrets tucked away on Morgan Terrace. The store is crammed full of all sorts of goodies ranging from Dr Seuss and Peter Rabbit egg cups, a Darth Vader mask, a picnic basket and a selection of home made jams.
As far as garments go there’s plenty of Country Road, Sportscraft, Witchery and ASOS stock. I picked up a denim jacket for $10, an Aztec poncho for $8 and Season 1 of Parks and Rec for $2. I almost bought a pair of maternity overalls for $8 which fit me too perfectly…think I might need to go on a diet!
Bicare has an extensive shoe collection including proper horse riding ankle boots for $6 and Country Road pumps and Stuart Weitzman flats, both for $10!
Did I mention this op shop even has a poodle mascot?
They get fresh stock daily and the prices are as marked but I found most items ranged from $6 -$15. Occasionally they have a half price sale during the week, so make sure you pop in from Monday to Friday…you might get lucky!
All funds raised go to helping children with acquired brain injuries at the Mater Children’s Hospital Rehabilitation Unit, so spend up big.
MEET ONE OF THE A-TEAM
Joan used to shop at the store every Friday afternoon and since retiring she’s been converted from a customer to a volunteer. But it’s not just about her own personal retail therapy.
“It’s nice to see people find quality things that perhaps they couldn’t afford new,” she said.
She’s been on the books for three months now and looks forward to her Friday shift each week.
Trading hours: 9am-4pm Monday – Friday and 9am-12:30pm Saturday

Thank you so much for pointing this store out – it is very awesome! I dropped in there today and got some great bargains. Looking forward to the next trip already.
Oh glad you liked it! Hope you cleaned up xx
Hi Hannah, my name is Andrea and I manage the BICARE Thrift Shop at Bardon. I just wanted to let you know how happy we all were with the way you presented our little shop and for all the lovely compliments. We have a great team of volunteers and are led by the founder, Dorothy Stringer, who started the BICARE foundation 22 years ago. If you need any more information about our shop please let me know. We are very fortunate that we receive and are very grateful for the many quality donations and are able to pass these on to the public. Thanks again and perhaps one day we’ll run into each other at the shop. Thanks again, Andrea.
Hi,
My wife inadvertently dropped my dry cleaning at your front door in mistake yesterday. A pair of maroon pants and dark pin stripe suit…please hold for me to collect and I will give you other clothes as act of good faith.
