They say good things come in small packages and after I visited Kenmore Uniting’s Op Shop I’ve realised you find good things in small stores.
While I was there I picked up an outrageous black and metallic silver cape and a cream cable knit sweater just in time for winter for a grand total of $12. I was tempted by an $8 Perri Cutten blazer but I’ve been on such a blazer bender lately I had to cut myself off.
They have a cute selection of crockery, all at very reasonable prices including a set of six martini glasses for just $5…even if you’re not James Bond you could definitely afford those! (Drink responsibly)
There’s no real set prices for anything in the store but most things are under $10…just the way I like it!
All the funds raised go to supporting a plethora of projects including an Indigenous soup kitchen, Kenmore State High School’s chaplain and the Dhaka Ahsani Mission in Bangladesh which targets human trafficking of women and children.
MEET ONE OF THE A-TEAM
“Being here interacting with people keeps me young,” she said.
The proof is in the pudding…at 82 years of age she’s looking like a spring chicken. She also loves the added bonus of some sneaky retail therapy.
“The clothes are lovely here, occasionally I’ll splash out. Today I bought a handbag,” she said.
Von is also very passionate about the projects they fundraise for and helping the local community in the process.
“We get a few customers that are doing it tough so everything is priced very low for them,” she said.
